Why is She Attracted to Him?

Both women and men can yammer all day long about what they find attractive in the opposite sex.  Sometimes they’ll even lie a bit, because it’s not “politically correct” to drool over certain body parts.  But you know what?  Attraction is all about biology.  No matter how politically correct we want to be, we’re hard wired to be attracted to others for certain reasons. 

Biologically speaking, men are interested in propagating the species – that means that yes, they want to sleep with as many women as possible.  But not just any woman.  They’re looking for young, healthy, “fertile” women.  Women who could bear healthy children. 

We don’t have fertility tests, so men have evolved to judge healthy and fertility on looks alone.  A woman with full lips, full breasts and full hips means she has the estrogen pumping through her body – a definite sign of fertility.  Her bright eyes and long, shiny hair is a cue to good health.   

That sure explains your own attractions, doesn’t it?  But what about you is attracting her?  To figure it out, we need to look at her biology too… 

Biologically speaking, women are hard-wired to look for healthy men (those with good genes who can give them healthy children), and wealthy men – or at least men who had the potential to be good providers.  Even the cave woman knew that when she got pregnant, it would be hard for her to gather the berries and hunt for meat herself – she needed a strong man who had the potential to take care of her and the children. 

So what does all this mean?  Sure, she’s looking for someone who looks healthy – nice hair, tall, good build, muscular, etc.  But beyond that, she’s looking for cues to a man’s wealth or at least his potential to be a good provider.  She may be looking at your clothes and your car, and certainly she’s listening to how you talk about your job and your future.   

For example, the proverbial “broke college student” can still score with women if he can prove to them that he has a lot of potential.  In other words, he might be broke now …but he has big plans for his future.  And she’ll see that as lots of potential.
